Countdown to the singularity
The Guide's best guess for superintelligence.
A book of dated forecasts about superintelligence, checked against the news every morning, and scored when they fall due.

Holding the Guide to account
What it got right or wrong
Every forecast in the Guide has a best-guess month, a window around it and a test written before it falls due. Once its month has passed, it leaves the live timeline and is judged here against that test: right, partly right, wrong, or not settled while its window is still open.
What changed in the forecasts
The Guide's odds move only when Peter revises them, and every revision is dated, with its reason.
The latest reassessment
The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Singularity
Predictions vs reality
The Guide's live forecasts, year by year from now to 2040 and beyond, each with its best-guess month, its odds and the test it will be judged against, and every story in the show that bears on it.
This tracks the news, not the odds. The odds are the Guide's own and move only when Peter revises them. "Evidence for" means a story shows part of a forecast's claim happening, not that the forecast has come true: that is settled only by its test, once its month has passed. The months are the Guide's best guesses, and the "±" is how far either side the Guide allows. The tests and the links are the shows' reading, not an independent assessment.
A field guide by Peter Xing
The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Singularity
The future is still unwritten.
A journey through artificial general intelligence, superintelligence, and the human choices in between.
It's where the forecasts the show checks every morning come from.
AGI Broad, human-level capability across tasks.
ASI Intelligence beyond human capability.
Neither a model launch nor a news headline establishes that a threshold has been crossed.
Read the guide
Peter's original chapters, from the capability frontier to the choices that remain ours. Three routes run through them: Capability asks when, Abundance asks how to thrive, and Risk asks what could go wrong.
The chapters load from the Guide as you get here.

About the show
The Singularity Daily is a 3-minute, upbeat catch-up on the last 24 hours in superintelligence, framed as the singularity arriving one day at a time. It's made every morning by an AI production pipeline Peter Xing built: it scans thousands of headlines, checks each story against a primary source or a major outlet, writes and voices the script, composes a new soundtrack and renders the video, then publishes it here with every source.
Your host is Claudia, an open character by anabology. Article screenshots shown in the videos belong to their publishers.
The same pipeline also makes The Transhuman Daily, the last 24 hours in super longevity, super wellbeing, super intelligence and the frontier tech that gets us there, with Transhumanism Australia, its stories checked against the same forecasts; and Microsoft for Education Daily: the latest Microsoft updates for schools, universities and TAFEs, every morning, with who each one is for, its status and its source.
The forecasts come from The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Singularity, Peter's living guide to the post-AGI transition. Want the long view? Read the Guide right here, then see what it got right or wrong.

Another show, every morning
The Transhuman Daily
The last 24 hours in transhumanism in three minutes: super longevity, super wellbeing, super intelligence and the frontier tech that gets us there. Every story says how strong its evidence is (in mice, in a trial, approved) and where it came from, and is checked against the Guide's forecasts like the Singularity Daily's, so it shows up in Predictions vs reality too.

Made every morning with Transhumanism Australia (transhuman.com.au) by the AI production pipeline Peter Xing built: it scans the science and tech press, checks every story against its source, says how strong the evidence is, then writes, voices and renders the show. The forecast links are the show's reading, made by the same rules as the Singularity Daily's. Not medical or financial advice. Article screenshots in the videos belong to their publishers.
A second show, every morning
Microsoft for Education Daily
The latest Microsoft updates for schools, universities and TAFEs in three minutes, for the people who teach, learn, lead and run IT on campus. Every update says who it's for, where it's at (out now, rolling out, preview or coming) and where it came from.
